Melanie began her ballet training at the age of 6 at California Dancer, continuing her formal dance education through college, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from California State University, Fullerton. Her diverse training throughout her childhood and teenage years encompassed ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theater, modern, and hip-hop, and she began dancing en pointe at age 12. During her competitive dance career, she received several national honors and had the opportunity to perform with prestigious groups, including the American College Dance Festival and Jimmy Defore Dance Studio.
Melanie’s teaching career started at age 16, and she has since taught at various studios across Southern and Central California. Specializing in ballet and pointe instruction, she enjoys working with students of all ages. Since joining The Dance Studio of Fresno in 2013, Melanie has been recognized for her fun, engaging teaching style and her passion for inspiring the next generation of dancers.
